Yes, generally: It is likely that you have a temporary filling placed over the access opening of the tooth that just have had root canal treatment. The temporary filling does wear out. So until you have the permanent filling or crown placed don't do anything that will dislodge or wear out the filling. Brushing moderately is ok. Soft bristle always.

Yes: Yes, it is very important to brush your teeth after having a root canal. You need to disrupt the bacteria on the surface of the tooth, otherwise, you'll end up with another cavity on the tooth and it could occur so quickly, that you would need to have the tooth extracted.
