Treatment: The first step is to see a therapist. Individual therapy may help to uncover some of the reasons for the nightmares and provide a base to work on the problem. Imagery rehearsal therapy specifically has been helpful for some patients to improve nightmares. A medication called minipress/prazosin has been used off-label to help with nightmares as well.
