A member asked:

My grandmother is suffering from heavy cavity problem. does this happen with age?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dry mouth: Older adults can suffer commonly with dry mouth. This maybe due to a common decline in saliva production, medications or other medical conditions like sjogrens. If medications can't be adjusted to improve dry mouth, saliva substituets should be used. There is a toothpaste for dry mouth as well. Frequent dental visits are equally important to keep her natural teeth and maintain a healthy diet.
