Love is love: Psychologically she has always been a woman. The software has always been female. There have been modifications to the hardware to bring it into sync with the software. Don't let it change your love. A study out ofnorway showed no greater psychopathology among transgendered individuals compared to the general population. Don't let your cultural preconceived notions destroy your love. Go to her therapist with her if you need to gain further understanding. Best wishes for a blessed holiday season.

Girlfriend is FTM?: While there are a variety of circumstances that might fit here, i'm guessing your girlfriend is genetically female, but identifies male. Of course she could be genetically male and is or has transitioned to female. In my experience working with the trans community for many years, couples are staying together more - recognizing that it's the person they love, not their gender. Counseling helps.
