A member asked:

I've had nightmares for three nights in a row. what could be wrong with me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Are you stressed?: Three nights of nightmares do not constitute an illness. If however you are worried or stressed out about a certain thing then you may find that you have a series of nightmares related to that topic. If it continues then i would see your family doctor to rule out physical and psychological causes. The psychiatric illness with the hallmark of nightmares is post traumatic stress disorder. There is also a nightmare disorder which is a primary sleep disorder. The treatment for the nightmares and both is minipress (prazosin).
