Usually ok: The vast majority of people have some sort of overbite. Overbite means the top teeth project over and ahead of the bottom teeth. Another component of the bite is how far the top teeth cover and overlap the bottom teeth. If when you bite your teeth together you don't see any of your bottom front teeth, you have a very deep bite. Discuss your concerns with your dentist.

Yes, it's OK. : So long as there is no acid, whether from reflux (gerd) or dietary, you will likely be fine. If there is bruxism (grinding) or acid dissolution, the vertical overlap can cause the inside of the upper teeth and front of the lowers can wear excessively. A night guard (splint) can protect them from damage. Orthodontic and/or restorative dentistry can repair damage that has already occurred.

Untreated over bite: I agree with dr. Bobbit. You have choices. With your bite now over a life time, there will be significant wear on the front of your lower teeth , and your inside upper teeth. Have an orthodontist evaluate you. First visit is usually free. At 35 you are not too old for orthodontics.

Evaluation: 35 down, 65 to go. If you have an overbite you may have other occlusal problems. Treat yourself to an initial examination by an orthodontic specialist (usually complimentary) to learn all about your unique circumstances. You'll be glad you did.
