Risks: Personally, I have never heard of any death related to the extraction of a wisdom tooth. There is a greater risk driving in a car or walking across the street.

No: I have never done or read a study, but extraction protocols and infection control are better than ever. I would probably recommend an oral surgeon for difficult extractions. If a wisdom tooth is infected, you stand a chance of the infection spreading throughout the body.
