A member asked:

Docs can you explain, is it safe to floss, brush and use mouthwash after a root canal, or should one of these steps be eliminated to play it safe?

Absolutely: A lot of root canal post op is based on common sense. If you floss and it hurts wait a day or two. Rinsing isn't an issue. Sometime brushing can be sore so go soft. Same with eating. I always tell someone not to chew on tooth unless putting pressure on it with tongue doesn't hurt. Even tgen keep it soft for a bit.

Go to it: It is safe to do all three of those steps unless the doctor asked you not to do one of them. Just be gentle flossing around the tooth for the first two days, then usually no problems.
