Gagger: It is not "hard" to get braces with a gag reflex, but it may take more office time to place the braces. Speak to your orthodontic specialist about the concerns of a gag reflex. If I know ahead of time, there are methods of placing brackets w/o gagging patients, but again, it is a more timely process.

No: first of all, putting on braces is not typically the time where most patients have gagging issues-- rather it is when the dental molds are made that cause patients issues who are more susceptible to gagging. this too can be overcome by going to an orthodontist who uses digital scanning equipment. Check that you doc has one of these machines and don't worry!
