Not really.: I believe that your sleepiness is due to the long stressful day and perhaps relief from pain from the cortisone injection. Yes, i think you'll feel better in the morning. I pray that you will.

Not a side effect: Feeling sleepy is not a side effect of an elbow cortisone injection. Some potential side effects include a rise in blood sugars (for diabetics) or potentially some local tissue inflammation or discoloration where the shot was given. Like you said, maybe the sleepiness was due to needing more sleep!
