Not always normal: Although calf pain can occur after knee arthroscopy, the concern is the potential for a deep venous thrombosis otherwise known as a blood clot. You need to contact your surgeon and have him evaluated for the potential of a blood clot. It is not necessarily a clot however you should check this. This is done with an ultrasound.

Check for a clot: Pain in calf muscles can be seen after arthroscopy but its imperative that you call your surgeon. He will send you to an er immediately to rule out the presence of a clot. Clots can be fatal if left untreated. Go to er if you can't contact your surgeon. Its better to be safe than sorry!
