Armpit: If your pain hasn't resolved, there are a few tests that can be considered. One is an ultrasound of the armpit to look for fluid collections or enlarged lymph nodes. Also, an xray of the area is reasonable to evaluate the shoulder joint and the ribs in that region. If no abnormality is detected, it may be related to a muscle strain or tendonitis.
