Open passage: There is a sort of plumbing system which drains tears into the nose with the opening next to the nose on each lid. Rarely the valves that make it one way, do not function well and if you blow your nose air or mucus can flow upwards into the eye. This is apparently what happened to you. It is more common after trauma or certain types of surgery. Ask your ophthalmologist for help.
