Can someone be on klonopin (clonazepam) for more than six weeks at 1 mg or 0.5 a day? could this be causing my shock bc it's longer than 6? tapering off effect?

Wean slow and little: Everybody's different on how quick they get tolerance to benzos and how sensitive they are to wd but 6 weeks is about average. Klonopin (clonazepam) is strong but of longer half-life. First cut 1 mg to 0.75mg and wait 2 weeks, then cut by 0.125 mg every 2 weeks. May consult psychiatrist to use dr. H.Ashton's diazepam wd protocol for klonopin (clonazepam). Underlying seizure, mood swing or anxiety may need other stable med.

Yes: Some people with severe anxiety disorders will stay on Klonopin (clonazepam) for life. The dose that you're on is very low. I don't know what you mean by shock. I would recommend that you talk to your prescribing doctor. If you tapering off then taper as slowly as possible. My recommendation is that it be tapered down by 0.25 mg per month until gone. Obviously however listen to your own prescribing doctor when it comes to this. Best wishes.
