A member asked:

My doctor say i'm too small.so if post op bleeding occur after tonsilectomy might be dangerous for me cause i got not much(blood)to lose.to go or not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tonsillectomy can be: Performed on very small children if it is indicated, with a low risk of bleeding. At 19, even if you are small, your risk of having a fatal post op bleeding event is extremely low and the procedure is performed routinely. There may be some other reason your surgeon is reluctant to remove your tonsils. You might want to get a second opinion.
