Yes: Brown just means old blood. Periods can definitely be irregular after giving birth, especially if you are still breastfeeding. At 36 years, there can be a lightening of periods too, where you don't have a heavy, bright red bleed for 3-4 days, you can have lighter periods, with more spotting and more brown. Hope that helps.
