Yes: Although you have rheumatoid arthritis, it is possible that you have other problems also. The 'conventional wisdom' is that a person with one autoimmune disease is more likely to have another autoimmune diagnosis. You didn't specify what other issues you were concerned with.

Rheumatoid arthritis: Affects more than the bones ligaments and tendons of the hand. It affects tissue through out the body. If you have had severe deformity in the hand that is a sign that you r disease needs treatment or that the disease is progressing despite your current regimen . Many advanced medicines are available that were not out a few years ago. Talk to your pcp and see a rheumatologist.
