A member asked:

How to avoid the side effects of medications containing "corticoid"?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Steroid: Corticosteroids are anti-inflammatory steroids for asthma/copd and other diseases. When taken by mouth, or IV or im the systemic effect will occur. When sprayed nasally or inhaled into the lungs the dose and the delivery system prevents systemic side effects (depending on dose and usage). Same thing with "cortisone" skin or local preparations, systemic side effect mitigated.
