A member asked:

I've had complete hysterectomy and have stopped taking my estergen. is there any risk for going into menapsuse at 29 any other risk for not taking it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

LOTS of risk: I assume by "complete hysterectomy" you mean your ovaries were removed? This is what most people mean but it is really not correct. If your ovaries were removed, you are "surgically menopausal" and are at risk for lots of problems. Some require estrogen but some can be treated without estrogen. Bone density, vaginal dryness and painful intercourse are included. See your doctor to discuss.
