It can be.: Stress and depression definitely can affect memory. So can anxiety. Go see your doctor and let them check you out. They should refer you to a psychiatrist and perhaps to a neurologist if necessary. Neuropsychological testing would be the most definitive way to know where memory problems are coming from. It can be: Memory is dependent on a number of other brain functions working well including attention. When one is srressed or suffering from a depressive illness attention can be greatly impacted as can motivation. If you are concerned, see your pcp as there are also other potential problems as well.
