Therapy, medication: Start with therapy, the sooner the better. Look for a dbt (dialectical behavioral therapy) group; dbt was developed to help people with borderline personality disorder, but is now used for a variety of problems. www.dbtselfhelp.com has great resources. Medications can help manage symptoms, but don't treat the underlying personality disorder. See a psychiatrist for help with medications.

DBT: Dbt, or dialetic behavioral therapy, formulated and developed by marsha linehan, pH.D. Is currently though of as being very effective. Borderline personality disorder or treatment is more a management issue than an issue that is curable.
