Maybe yes: Oral herpes (almost always type 1 herpes simplex virus, or HSV1) is often transmitted by oral sex, and with active cold sore, you likely were highly infectious. OTOH, half of all adults in the US have had HSV1 in childhood. If your partner had it, he is resistant to a new HSV1 infection and at little or no risk. He should watch for blisters/sores of his penis in the next several days.
