A member asked:

Will the gum between teeth lessen if i floss?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Accurate flossing has been shown to firm the gum tissue between the teeth so long as the cause for the swollen gums is poor oral hygiene. But many other factors cause swollen gums including teeth that are in less than ideal position (crowded, rotated, etc), defective restorations, cracks, various medications, medical conditions and tartar build up. See your dentist for a thorough evaluation.
