Usually right away: I tell my patients they can eat right away, but stay away from chips, nuts, popcorn - foods of this nature. Do not drink with a straw so you don't disturb the clot and end up with a dry socket. Also, be careful about extremely hot foods while your mouth is still anaesthetized.
