Wisdom teeth: Swelling and discomfort varies greatly depending upon the difficulty of the extraction, your age, medical conditions, general health and your body's recuperative powers. I have seen some patients who hardly swell and others who take a week or more to get back to relative normalcy. Follow you doctor's directions and consult him/her along with a follow up visit to monitor healing.
