Not smart : As a parent of a tweenager and dentist to hundreds more, the last thing you want to of is wrap your (expensive!) retainer(s) in a napkin. Simply brush them with soap and warm water every day, rinse well with lots of clear water and put them back in your mouth or place them in your case to air dry. Napkins get thrown out routinely...Think about it! :-).

No: No, but you can easily break the trays. Ask your treating Dentist or (hopefully) Orthodontic Specialist best tray hygiene suggestions.
