I'm wondering if bruxism (grinding your teeth) - related to depression, anxiety?

Bruxism and anxiety: Bruxism can be caused by anxiety. It can also be caused by antidepressants. Pent-up anger can be another cause. I'm referring you to a mayo clinic article that is an excellent review of the subject. I recommend that you read it. Best wishes. www.mayoclinic.com/health/bruxism/ds00337/dsection=causes bruxism/ teeth grinding — comprehensive overview covers symptoms, causes, treatment.

Two edged sword: Bruxism may lead to anxiety and depression, depending upon the related symptoms and changes that can occur from tooth grinding, and anxiety, especially, can lead to bruxism. Often in dealing with such a problem, a tmj/tmd specialist and or a dentist and a psychologist/psychiatrist may have to work together in helping the patient.
