Scared of what ?: Scared of going to the dentist of scared of what the dentist will find once you are examined? Ask your friends, neighbors, or co-workers for a referral to a trusted dentist in your area. Explain your concerns at your first visit. I'm sure after you feel comfortable with the dentist and the office staff, many of your fears will be alleviated.

A dentist that cares: Find a dentist that cares and takes his or her time to explain everything beforehand, that makes it easier and eases the fear.

Some patients have extreme anxiety with dental treatment and for them I recommend either nitrous oxide which puts you in a relaxed mode while treatment is performed or IV sedation for extreme cases. Both cost additional, but may be what you need.
