Yes, but not advised: Pain is a warning sign of irritation or tissue damage, so preemptively trying to avoid pain can cause to increased risk of tissue damage. Neither Acetaminophen or nsaids are great at preventing pain prior to it starting, they can. Acetaminophen probably more so. If it is for a surgical procedure, be even more cautious as nsaids can cause bleeding issues, so make sure to discuss with your doctor.
