Yes: Both are older antihistamines. They do cause quite a bit of sedation and can cause confusion in the young, elderly and enhance sedative properties of other drugs. Action is no better than 2nd generation non sedating antihistamines, with the exception of some anxiety relieving effects due to sedation.
