A member asked:

After ceasing to take periactin, (cyproheptadine hydrochloride) my behaviour has changed, could be withdrawal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not withdrawal: Periactin (cyproheptadine hydrochloride) (cyproheptidine) makes you sleepy. Sometimes it makes you hungry but it's not habit-forming or addictive. If you feel more alert, less drowsy, have more energy, and decreased appetite that's just the effects of this classical antihistamine wearing off.
