Is there a cure for hiv/aids in the near future?

Prevention: There have been only a couple cases in which HIV was cured, one in an infant and one by bone marrow transplantation. Otherwise there are no promising treatments in the pipeline for the foreseeable future. At this time prevention the best policy.

Curing HIV: Nope. Not in the near future. There is nothing in current science, research or in medications that hold a real promise of cure. But, science is moving forward with significant gains in the knowledge it will take to get this infection cured. The big news is that HIV infection can be prevented after an exposure. This post exposure prophylaxis should be known about by all in our communities.
