Yes: Yes, a hematoma is likely. It is just a collection of blood in the muscle/under the skin that occurs due to a broken blood vessel. A more serious possibility is a blood clot. If the leg is warm and/or red, you could have a blood clot that could be serious. You can have a blood test (called a d-dimer) to rule out the possiblity or an ultrasound can be done. Anti-inflammatories may help the pain.
