Bruising is typical: in this type of soft tissue injury. It is not uncommon to have sustained a fracture in the tibia or fibula after being hit with a softball. If you are concerned I would recommend getting an xray and treatment. Otherwise elevate, ice packs, anti-inflammatories, wrapping and stretching are your best options!
