Celery: External hemorroids are engorged veins around the anus. The most common cause is increased pressure during defecation from constipation. Otc remedies are of little or no proven benefit. Increased dietary fiber and lots of water makes stooling easier and will help. Painful thrombosed hemorrhoids should be seen by a doctor. Hemorroids from liver cirrhosis must be seen by your doctor asap.
