Depends: If her burning occurs primarily during exertion, her heart may be the culprit. If it occurs at rest, especially at night, improved with eating food, improved by belching, possibly associated with nausea, it's more likely to be acid reflux disease, gastritis, or an ulcer in her stomach or duodenum.
