Loss of nutrients: Formula or breast milk is balanced for digestibility and nutrient provision for infants.Cow milk is balanced to feed cows.Early switch to cow milk drops the nutrient balance in favor of cow nutrition. Cow milk also irritates the bowel some and in large amounts can result in anemia. If you use it boil it first to reduce the gut irritation.

Cows milk: We dont usually recommend starting cows milk until 11-12 months of age because of high sodium content.
