Inflammation: Cervicitis is an inflammation of the cervix - the lower part of the uterus that extends about one inch into the vaginal canal. Squamous metaplasia ( replacement of usual epithelium by benign defferent type of epithelium) - benign changes in response to inflammation or irritation. Treatment- antibiotics.
