A member asked:

How long after quitting smoking cigarettes will i notice a difference in peripheral nerves?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unclear: Smoking is not related to peripheral nerve injury. Blood vessel constriction can occur causing pain and discoloration of the hands and fingers and improves with smoking cessation. True peripheral neuropathy is not related to tobacco abuse and other causes should be investigated
