Yes, but...: In the United States, dogs are well taken care of, and cities have good animal control services. One is unlikely to get rabies from dog bite in the U.S.. Sure, there might be a rabid dog here and there, but nothing near the level of problems seen in developing countries. In the U.S., the animals that carry rabies are raccoons, skunks, foxes, coyotes, and bats. Any bite should be seen by a doctor.
