Culture of Medicine: No. There are no laws to force a physician to order unnecessary tests. No. There is no 'opinionated' physicians denying patients access to appropriate health care. Now. There is a culture in medicine; there is a standard of care for medical problems and symptoms and a common approach to testing and monitoring that an experienced physician would be following.

Doing their job: Most likely your doctor is trying to do his/her job with you, investigating complaints that you bring. You haven't shared any medical information at all -- but you do sound irritated. Insurance companies often have guidelines about what studies they consider necessary or allowable, but these aren't tailored to individual patient situations. Your doctor tries to get you the exams ; care you need.
