Anybody been on stimulants for several years? what is that like?

They are usually O.K: I have known patients who have been on stimulants since childhood and some into adulthood. There do not seem to be any long term negative effects in these people from the meds if they are taken as prescribed. Stimulants can raise blood pressure and heart rate and predispose to arrhythmias, so monitoring of vital signs and a baseline and repeat ekg is important.
