A 36-year-old member asked:

I wanted to know is it safe to go to a chiropractor if you have degenerative disks in your neck?

Dr. Dennis Giannini

Depends: Depends on the severity of the degenerative disc disease and the chiropractic methods used. The more severe the disc disease and the higher energy techniques used, the greater the risks with chiropractic manipulation. My opinion, better safe than sorry. See your doctor and or a physical therapist. Osteopathic doctors are trained in spinal manipulation.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
