Lattice Degeneration: It is rare to lose vision from lattice degeneration. Retinal tears which could lead to retinal detachment are more common with this. If you have symptoms of new floaters or flashes you must contact your ophthalmologist.

Lattice degeneration: Is an area of the retina which deteriorates, causing focal small holes and sclerotic blood vessels, as well as thinning of the retina in that area. Lattice degeneration by itself will not cause blindness, but patients with this can develop a retinal hole or tear. This can lead to a detached retina, which could cause significant vision loss. If you have lattice, see your eye doctor yearly.
