Preop visit: Lots of details, so take a friend with you to help record all the detail. Your plastic surgeon will order labs, possible other tests to help lower your risk. You will be advised about bowel function, diet, medications, pain management, drains, length of stay, follow up, when to report certain symptoms. Consent will be discussed and you will sign. Be well and good luck.

Alot: There is a lot of information that is transferred during the preoperative visit. Some, but not all of this information, includes a discussion of patient's goals, preoperative and postoperative instructions, discussion of prescriptions to be filled, methods to alleviate anxiety commonly experienced, and any other questions/concerns a specific patient may have. Best wishes.
