Scientific Rx: If topical benzoyl peroxide has not cleared you in two weeks, get with your personal physician for prescription-strength treatment. The oral contraceptive pill may clear a young woman. A topical or systemic antibiotic, a retinoic acid derivative, or spironolactone (a little-known but often-effective treatment) may help, or the big guns -- isotretinoin. There's no quick fix. Be proactive.
