Need to work up more: It depends on multiple factors, it could be acute bronchitis but you must have at least chest xray and ct chest, if you are high risk, you may need bronchoscopy.

Possibilities...: This could be due to bronchitis but the concern is the possibility of malignancy. You need to be evaluated by your doctor to be sure there is no malignancy present. If you are still smoking, your doctor can help you to quit. Good luck!
