A member asked:

What can cause a 10 point drop of hematocrit over a 48 hour period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hemolysis: Apart from hemorrhage (bleeding), hemolysis (red cells destruction) is probably the most common cause. This can be caused by antibodies (autoimmune), medications, or inherited defects in the red cell membrane (g6pd, hereditary spherocytosis).
