A Bruise is a Bruise: A bruise is a blood clot in the tissues of the body including in the skin. There is blood in arteries and there is blood in veins. Blood causes bruises regardless of whether it comes from the artery or the vein. I do not understand your question.

Both can bruise.: Both an artery and a vein can bleed resulting in a bruise (hematoma or black and blue mark). Small arteries can cause the same type of bruise as a vein but larger arteries can cause more extensive bruising.
