A member asked:

My daughter is 41 years old, and her period is two weeks late. how likely is it that she could be pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Irregular period : If she is sexually active it is possible to be pregnant at age 41. I suggest she gets a pregnancy test. If negative she may still see her doctor for further evaluation. As people approach menopause they tend to have irregular period. This can happen as early as 40. But the average age of menopause is 51 in the us. I see a trend where more and more younger folks are menopausal or closer earlier.
